After graduating in May, Journalism minor Christa Dutton (’24) will work as a Reporting Fellow at The Chronicle of Higher Education. The Chronicle selects two fellows each year to work as general assignment reporters. Fellows cover a multitude of issues in higher education from student activism to finance to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion legislation. The Chronicle received close to 150 applications this year. Applicants must complete three rounds of interviews, submit five clips to showcase their writing skills, and pitch three story ideas to demonstrate news judgment.

Christa is an English major with minors in Journalism and Communication. In 2023, she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Old Gold & Black. She got started at the Old Gold & Black as a freshman reporting primarily for the news desk before she was promoted to News Editor and then Editor-in-Chief. During the summer of 2023, she interned at the Triad Business Journal covering restaurants and retail. In her last semester at Wake Forest, she is working as Story Editor at The Magnolia, the Old Gold & Black’s feature magazine.
