Students Learn Investigative Reporting at Weekend Workshop

New Hire: Ivan Weiss

Ivan Weiss, previously an adjunct, has been hired as an assistant professor of the practice. Applications for Scholarships and Stipends Due Soon

The deadlines to apply for scholarships and stipends are quickly approaching. The Journalism Program supports unpaid summer journalism internships for students minoring in journalism with stipends of between $500 and $1,000. They also offer scholarship funding for students taking journalism courses abroad, but independent study projects that require travel are also considered. Margie Feng (‘17) at the University of Southern California

Margie Feng (‘17) is currently a graduate journalism student at the University of Southern California. “I’ve participated in and produced three multimedia long-form pieces, and I am reporting on my graduate thesis about foreign correspondents’ reporting conditions in China,” said Feng. “Besides the academics, I am working as a videographer for the USC School of Dramatic Arts.” During her time at Wake Forest, Feng interned with Wake Forest Magazine. Carl Bernstein Speaks at the Temple Emanuel

Carl Bernstein is an American investigative journalist and author and was one of the two reporters who broke the story on the Watergate scandal in 1972. Daniel Sechtin (’16) Wins Midsouth Emmy for News Writing Excellence

Daniel Sechtin graduated from Wake Forest in 2016, majoring in Politics and International Affairs with a double minor in Journalism and Philosophy.
