Dorothea Lange Exhibit Comes to Reynolda House

This fall, The Reynolda House is featuring an exhibit called “Dorothea Lange’s America.” Lange was a Depression-era documentary photographer whose work has come to symbolize resilience in the face of 1930’s poverty. Her photographs will be supplemented by other documentarians of the era, including Walker Evans, Ben Shahn, Russell Lee, and Mike Disfarmer.  The exhibition will run from September 14 to December 30, 2018. Applications for Scholarships and Stipends Due Soon

The deadlines to apply for scholarships and stipends are quickly approaching. The Journalism Program supports unpaid summer journalism internships for students minoring in journalism with stipends of between $500 and $1,000. They also offer scholarship funding for students taking journalism courses abroad, but independent study projects that require travel are also considered. Carl Bernstein Speaks at the Temple Emanuel

Carl Bernstein is an American investigative journalist and author and was one of the two reporters who broke the story on the Watergate scandal in 1972. ESPN Journalist to Speak on Sports and Politics

WFDD Features Student Work in Community Journalism

Tommy Tomlinson Hosts New Podcast “SouthBound”

Tommy Tomlinson is an adjunct professor at Wake teaching Magazine Writing, and contributes to national magazines like Esquire, ESPN The Magazine, Sports Illustrated, Forbes, Reader’s Digest, Southern Living and Garden & Gun. This week he is launching a podcast by WFAE (an NPR affiliate) in Charlotte titled “SouthBound,” centered on conversations with people from the South from all walks of life. Justin Catanoso Reporting from his fourth United Nations Climate Summit (COP23)

Justin Catanoso teaches journalism courses and regularly contributes to Mongabay with a focus on climate change. He will be reporting for Mongabay at his fourth United Nations Climate Summit in Bonn, Germany this week.  He has published five pieces so far that can be found on the Mongabay website here or on his personal website. He has also been live tweeting from the Summit.
