Buck Hinman (‘16) was nominated for a regional Emmy for his work at WTVG 13abc in Ohio. Hinman recently moved from Toledo, OH where he worked as a producer. He currently resides in Winston-Salem, also working as a producer for WGHP Fox8. At WGHP Fox8, he works to produce an hour-long newscast.
“I pick out all the stories and choose how they will be presented on air,” said Hinman. “Then, I write them and add in any graphics.”
Once the show starts, Hinman can be found in the booth along with the director and audio operator, timing the show, making changes on the fly, and cueing reporters in the field.
Fun Fact: Hinman currently sings in a Barbershop quartet!
