Congratulations are in order for the Old Gold & Black, which was recently recognized with several awards during the Associated Collegiate Press’ fall 2022 journalism contests.
The OG&B was a finalist for the ACP’s Best Newspaper Pacemaker Award, given to the nation’s top collegiate newspapers.
Additionally, the OG&B’s breaking news story on the Weaver Fertilizer Fire written by Connor McNeely, Aine Pierre, and Cooper Sullivan received recognition as the 4th best breaking news story in the ACP’s Story of the Year competition.
Selinna Tran, the OG&B’s Print Managing Editor, also received a 3rd place award in the comic strip/panel category of the ACP’s Cartoon of the Year competition.
In the ACP’s Best of Show competition, Photo Editor Evan Harris took home 7th and 10th place prizes in the photojournalism category, and staff columnists Natasha Heisenberg and Lucy Roberts won 2nd and 4th place in the social justice reporting category, respectively.
