Senior Will Zimmerman’s Story, “Rooted in East Winston,” Published in The Assembly

Will Zimmerman (‘23) is a senior from New York studying writing, journalism, and film. His story, “Rooted in East Winston,” charts Michael Banner’s quest to return healthy, fresh food to his community in East Winston, and was born out of Professor Barry Yeoman’s Magazine Writing class, which Will took in the fall semester of 2021. Thanks to Banner’s thoughtfulness, as well as the support and guidance of Professor Yeoman during the fall of 2021 and the ensuing year, Will’s story was published in The Assembly in September of 2022.
